Here's $20 I'll Never See Again

A long time ago, I wrote about the best cat toy ever. I don't know what happened to it -- it's most likely in the bottom of the toy basket after my cat, Meeko, grew bored of it. So in an attempt to throw a bit of entertainment her way, I purchased her an "Emory Cat" scratching board.

I should have immediately clued in to her disinterest when I had to place her on top of the board. She stretched and scratched the surface once, then turned and sniffed the attached feather wand. After 30 seconds, she leapt off. A few days ago, I tried to encourage her to give it another go, but she'd have none of it. I swear, when I took the photo below, I heard her laughing at me:

My pets' interest in toys, etc. is in inverse proportion to the amount of money spent for them.

So true, Jan. Often, a scrunched-up piece of paper provides hours of fun.

Those informercials about cats doing their own manicures on some plasterboard contraption that somebody sprinkled with catnip -- are really a hoot.

Believe it or not, my cat, Patrick, is just as content to do his daily paw grooming inside the weave of my sofa upholstery -- free of charge.

Cats. Go figure.

Lol, Georgie. I'm not sure if it's free of charge though, considering the cost of the sofa.

I chalk it up to cat misundertanding and aloofness. "I don't know how to thatch! What am I going to do with a thatching board? Silly human!"

Silly human is right -- when will I learn that my cat doesn't thatch (or do much of anything either)?

Pretty interesting place you've got here. Thank you for it. I like such themes and everything connected to them. I would like to read more on that blog soon.

Great article you got here. It would be great to read more concerning that theme. The only thing that blog misses is a few pics of any gadgets.

Pets and humans get excited and have fun having a new toy. After some time, we tend to get bored with it.
